(It's pronounced 'Eve', but feel free to say it phonetically if it's more fun!)
I'm a copywriter, theatre maker and all-round joy chaser.
A perfect day for me is spent writing, bringing ideas to life and working with like-minded, passionate people. Therefore, I can confidently say, I really love what I do.
From the ripe old age of 12, I was sure I wanted to be a writer. Words have always held great magic in my life, and I have been fascinated with their power for as long as I can remember.
However, it was when I was studying for my bachelor's degree in Drama and Theatre studies, that my true passion for writing began. While studying I was offered the opportunity to be consistently creative and free with my writing, and the lessons were invaluable. Up until this point my writing had been a relatively private pursuit. However, once I delved into the madness of my master's degree, in Contemporary Performance Practice, I was given the opportunity to truly put my writing to the test.
I wrote, staged and performed my first original stage play, The Daughters of Róisín and that was it. I knew that writing had to become my full time job. After establishing a theatre company, Wee Yarn Productions, and touring our work across the UK, Ireland and Australia, receiving sell out shows and numerous 5 star reviews, I was hooked!
At this stage, I was determined to find a way to make writing my full time job and the copywriting gods swooped in and granted my wish!
A friend asked would I write her website for her new business and I suddenly realised that the many years of creativity, writing and studying audiences was the perfect training for becoming a pretty great copywriter.
I now spend my days writing, working with passionate entrepreneurs and giving businesses that extra bit of magic when it comes to their copy.
(And don't worry, I'm still making theatre.
That ship isn't going to sail any time soon!)
Wishing you a wonderful, creativity-filled, sunshine-y day!
(or Eve, whatever floats your boat).
